Alright, I drove a 435i Gran Coupe and I thought the paddles should have been mounted to the steering column instead of the steering wheel, what do you think?

Having driven many variants of both, fixed is definitely better.

Like I said in your original post, regardless of where the paddles are mounted, don't downshift in a turn. That's bad driving.

Im preferential to paddles that move with the wheel, since both of the sim racing wheels I have owned are built that way. When I went to the GT Academy nationals they had Thrustmaster wheels with fixed paddles and I flubbed a couple of shifts because of.

Purely a matter of being trained one way and not being used to the other. Not really a case for why one is better than the other.

Fixed paddles allow you to always know exactly where the paddles are, no matter what angle the wheel is turned. I prefer fixed.

I like the paddles that move with the wheel. If they are on the column it really seems like you could hurt your hand on them (perhaps badly in an accident).
